Exciting Times for Equestrian NSW Saddlehorse
The board of Equestrian NSW is very pleased to announce its appointment of a new committee which will grow saddlehorse activity in NSW. The ENSW Saddlehorse Development Committee will work with Equestrian NSW saddlehorse co-ordinator, Debbie Bugden, to devise and implement new strategies for increasing saddlehorse activity and opportunity in this state. The committee is made up of four very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated people; Sue Adams, who has been involved in saddlehorse competition for many years including judging and event management, Luke Millington, who also has many years of experience in showing horses and is experienced in business planning, Melinda Readman, who has also been showing horses for years as well as being involved in organising many Arab Society shows and Linda Goldspink-Lord who is actively involved in showing, with her daughters currently competing, and has extensive experience in strategic planning, governance, education and training. Collectively, they have a wealth of experience in showing horses, co-ordinating and managing shows, business planning and importantly a passion for the development, implementation and evaluation of best practice principles for saddlehorse events.
The committee will focus long-term on creating a new calendar of events in NSW for saddlehorse with a view to initially establishing at least one more prestige, marquee event to complement our existing Horse of the Year show with additional qualifying events and activities throughout the year also planned. It is anticipated that the first of these will involve the Spring Show date of early October 2010. More information will be publicised here as the concepts are fully developed.
The ENSW board and office would like to thank Sue, Luke, Melinda and Linda for their keen interest in working with us for the benefit of saddlehorse and our showing members.
